You can change the kdb sequence for the serial console.  Edit
drivers/char/serial.c and set kdb_serial_str to a different string.  I
use this

static char kdb_serial_str[] = "\eKDB";

so my way to enter kdb on the serial console is <escape>KDB, in upper
case.
