The SGI XFS patches make changes to the VM code in the kernel. I have observed
differences in VM behaviour between RH 2.4.20-xx kernels and those that have SGI
XFS patches.
If SGI XFS is going to make changes to kernel VM behaviour, I'd think they be
interested in making sure that kernels with their code in them would perform
acceptably especially if their code is also related to the problem area (VM)
