           Summary: excessive swapping
           Product: Linux XFS
           Version: 1.2.x
          Platform: IA32
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: High
         Component: XFS kernel code
        AssignedTo: xfs-master@xxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: cchan@xxxxxxxxxxxx

I have a RH7.3 box running the RH 2.4.20-13 with SGI_XFS patches applied.

I have found that it is swapping when under high load although there is
physical memory that could be used instead of using swap.

The box runs postfix with mysql code enabled. The box would start swapping
although free -m would report that about 200MB could still be freed from the
cache. The amount of swap used was also about 200MB, a bit less than the amount
of cached data.
