I'm running Mandrake 9.0 on a number of computer systems at JPL, and am having wierd fs corruption problems. What will happen is after heavy io and writing to many files we'll be able to "see" the file but won't be able to access it.

for example I'll run "ls -la devel" in the directory and will see:
-rw-rw-r-- 1 mamops optint 890 Jun 13 12:48 devel

when I try to cat, less, or more, the file I get nothing. vi will give a read error.

the kernel running is: 2.4.19-32mdkenterprise

I know you don't usually mess with vendor kernels but I was wondering if you've see this before, so i can be pushed in the right direction to find a solution....
