I have a Red Hat 7.3 box with XFS 1.2 and it shares the home directories
by nfs. nfslock starts fine here and it even interacts with samba so it
should just work.

Does dmesg list anything or /var/log/messages? Does it have any firewall
chains still dangling.

Try to flush them out if you can.

service ipchains stop
service iptables stop

Cheers
Seth
