hi,
when coping/deleting files (both small and very large)
the cpu usage reaches 100% so that it's hardly possible to do anything
else at the same time
what could possibly be the reason?
i use linux 2.5.65 (though same goes for 2.4.20)
debian sid
i use the following hdparm settings:
#hdparm -d1 c1 -u1 -m8 /dev/hda
which results in
#hdparm /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
multcount = 16 (on)
IO_support = 1 (32-bit)
unmaskirq = 1 (on)
using_dma = 1 (on)
keepsettings = 0 (off)
readonly = 0 (off)
readahead = 256 (on)
geometry = 23989/16/63, sectors = 156301488, start = 0
