I'm using linux-2.4.18, XFS version 1.1 with patches.
I've been doing some simple tests on XFS behavior when filling up a
filesystem (128MB).
One of the tests I do is to create zero length files (i.e. touch FileX) to
use up the available inodes.
When I've used up all available inodes, the disk usage is reported at 26%.
This is OK, and expected.
The issue I have is after I've deleted all the files. The disk usage stays
at 26%.
Is this expected behavior? Is there a way to recover the on disk memory
without unmounting the filesystem?
