IIRC Linda Walsh had the exact same error message on her root filesystem while she tried to dump it with xfsdump. In this case I think there is either a stray file or directory on the filesystem which is confusing the xfs layer.


You may want find find the thread using the searchable mailing list archive. You can find the link on the mailinglist page.

It lists the way to find the problem and correct it.
