Hallo Juergen,
I'm using a "home-grown" 2.4.21-pre5-ac1 with XFS (CVS-2003-03-05).
Alan's patch removes nvidia.* from drivers/ide/pci (pre5). It includes
nForce(2) support in drivers/ide/pci/amd74xx.* so be sure to activate "AMD
Viper support".
For now I could say it works stable and fast on my Leadtek K7NCR18D-Pro
(nForce2):

The box isn't really under stress but it serves my imap stuff and I'm coding a
lot with Eclipse and compiling new kernels every hour ;-)
Hope this helps...
Cheers
Thomas
PS: XFS really ROCKS and you xfs-dev-guys doing a very good job!
