hello,
Don't forget to update the kernel on it after installing. If you want a dvd you can also find a link in the archives to a complete Red Hat 8.0 with XFS support installer. A image redhat-7.3-xfs is avalaible but some programms on my other machine run's under redhat8.0 and i would like work with redhat > 8.0
Redhat 8.0 and a kernel-update or redhat-7.3-xfs-image or redhat-8.1-xfs-beta(if is avalaible) ? We only have a Red Hat 8.0 installer, there is not enough manpower to make installers for the beta products. And may i become many problems when i compile the kernel with XFS-Support self? There should be no problems in installing or compiling another XFS enabled kernel. The on-disk format is the same. Please could any her say what is the best way to install and the best stable XFS now? If you need a Red Hat 8.0 box and you already have the Red Hat 8.0 CD's I suggest fetching just the 8.0 XFS installer from the FTP site and upgrade the kernel to the 1.2pre5 version which is available. Cheers -- Seth It might just be your lucky day, if you only knew. |
