You should be able to do an rpm --rebuild on the source rpms and get
something you can use on RH 7.3.

The patches you're using are CVS code, not 1.2 based code. I think
someone has already merged the 1.2pre4 code up to 2.4.20. Either you'll
have to check the archives to find out who, or they'll speak up.
