Thanks for the info.
BTW: I believe a 3ware based 1TB FS will be cheaper than a software RAID using
SCSI.
i.e.
RAID 5 = 8 port 3ware controller + 6 * 200 Gig IDE drives (7200 RPM)
= $400 + 6 * $300 = $2200
And it could fit into a single large tower. (I don't know if they want a tower
or a rack mount for this project.)
And if you don't know the 3ware card eliminates the single tasking nature of
ide, so it should be as fast as a 6 drive (7200 RPM) scsi array.
