Hm, I did mix-and-match that a bit, didn't I.  Now I'm not sure.
There is endian-ness in the logs, but there are also some differences
in the log, I think (at least right after mkfs).  However, I -think- that
logs are portable between machines of the same endian-ness.  I'd
have to go dig for a while to know for sure.

Steve can probably say for sure off the top of his head.  :)
