What about these lines in kernel-2.4.18-17SGI_XFS_1.2pre2.spec?:

# fix UML build (no fsckin' clue who RH missed that..  --hch)

Also I like to mention I have been able to build a i686 up and smp
17SGI_XFS_1.2pre2 kernel (set buildUML to 0), however it crashes during
loading of the XFS bits. The XFS message is put to the console and then
the kernel dies, no error or whatsoever... (only a single 'p' put to the
put console right after the XFS message)
