This is not a valid config (DMAPI=m) - it looks like you hand-edited
your config?  There were some changes recently in how the DMAPI config
options are handled, perhaps that is the problem.

At any rate, if you do a "make oldconfig" you will see the DMAPI line
magically change from "=m" to "=y" and things should work at that
point.

If "make oldconfig" doesn't solve your problem, please re-open this bug.

Also, unless you have a tape silo handy, you probably don't even
want to be compiling dmapi into the kernel.
