FWIW, I tried 3 and 4 LV devices in software raid 5, and both mounted successfully. This is with CVS code on an SMP system, with the LVM code that came from 2.4.19... Could you please file this bug in bugzilla, at http://oss.sgi.com/bugzilla/ ?
