I am asuming you are > using a 2.0 base driver? Yes, and since the box oopsed there was some slight damage. The corrupt log kind of damaged. We were too late in noticing (it was causing 10 second network stalls) and rebooting the box before it died. Hrmm..I'm using the tg3 driver that's in 2.4.19. but it is a bit broken, and imho, could be causing some adjitation(sp?) of things under the right circumstances.i.e. it doesn't report it's TX and RX bytes beyond 4GB. (QLA2300 from 5.38.9 is nearly 1MB when I look at LSMOD!!!)
Driver can be quite large yes. Although I remember a xfs module of 12MB as well that had all symbols compiled in :-) We were in fact, using 6.0b27 during our uptime test, with no issues regarding crashing, which again makes me think it's the QLA driver, but I don't have much to go on, so I'm hunting down every possible avenue I can. :) I have seen some reports and troubles with people and the Qlogic cards. So that is one of the biggest pointers yes. Cheers -- Seth It might just be your lucky day, if you only knew. |
