Thanks, everyone, for the prompt replies. I think that I'll either just
live with the situation, or else reformat my /home partition to ext2 or
ext3. There are Windows programs I'm aware of that can read ext2/3
filesystems. VMware is great, but I don't have a real excuse for using it.

Possibly using VMware could solve your problem. You could run windows
within a virtual VMware mashine on the Linux host. The later exports
the XFS filesystem via samba which you can map without problems from
the windows computer.
