My mistake, mapcheck is always never asks for user input from what I can see in 
the code.

The -f option is apparently to force it to process a filesystem even though it 
does not look like an XFS filesystem.  (This is a guess from a very brief look 
at the code.)

Regardless, the argument processing logic does not handle the -f or --force 
option, so if this is needed by anyone, the code is broken.
