cannot uncompress patch

Hello,

I have downloaded the patch xfs-1.1-2.4.18-all.patch.bz2 into the /usr/src
directory, but cannot uncompress it at all.  If I try to use the command

minikerr:/usr/src#  tar -jxvf xfs-1.1-2.4.18-all.patch.bz2
tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Skipping to next header

tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

minikerr:/usr/src# gunzip xfs-1.1-2.4.18-all.patch.bz2

Can anyone help me or giving me pointers on how to uncompress this patch
so it is usable?  I've never had a problem like this before and it is
rather frustrating.  :-)
