Hi,

If the question is, can XFS work on a device where the smallest
addressable unit on the device is not 512 bytes then the answer
is no. XFS has some metadata which is always 512 bytes long no
matter what the filesystem block size used is. Other filesystems
which make all their metadata the same size do not have this
problem.

It was an unfortunate design choice by the original designers of
XFS, but something we are stuck with now without an on disk format
change.
