I'd second that: The 7850 is the fastest RAID controller I've ever seen in
or attached to a PeeCee - even RAID5 is tremendously fast. Note that you
need linux-2.4.18(-xfs-1.1) for arrays > 1 TByte (e.g. 8x Maxtor 160 GByte
on RAID5),
