Hello,
does anybody have experiencies with the Redhat installer from

Does anybody has tried that? It is supposed to be stable enough for everyday
use?
Thx,

I did test the kernel from this installer (2.4.18 Red Hat based) on a medium sized ia32 box and it did well.

It was a dual 1.4Ghz PIII and 2GB ram with a hardware raid 10.
I tried some local mongo.pl runs with a lot of processes and bonnie++ runs back to back for a day over NFS (gigabit ethernet).

Not too stellar scores (hardware raid limit) but the machine survived none the less. NFS performance was about 500Mbps but this was limited by the desktop client machine.

Don't forget to make your network buffers larger if you have gigabit ethernet if you want some return on investment ;)
Otherwise it is just like having 100Mbit ethernet.

I have not tested the installer part due to time shortage. I think Eric did test this before releasing it. Eric you did test it by upgrading did you :)

Cheers

It might just be your lucky day, if you only knew.
