hi Allan - 

What compiler did you use?  I had DEBUG panics with Red Hat's 2.96-98
and 2.96-101, but 2.96-107 worked.  kgcc, as always, also worked.

Oh, and out of curiosity.... did it say DA READ ERROR? That's what I
hit.
