Problems with 2.4.19-pre9

Hi,

I just updatetd my kernel to the newest CVS and I noticed some strange
behavior.

When extracting a kernel tar.bz2 for example it takes _really_ long and every
then and now it simply stops writing data to the harddisk and pauses for some
seconds... (simply doing nothing). With 2.4.18 everything was fine.
(dmesg shows nothing)

(I'm using XFS on top of LVM)
