I'd need to look at SuSE's SRPM to know for sure what's in it, but
it probably has several specific patches in it, that will be different
from the patches in the 2.4.9-31 RPMs we have that are based on
Red Hat's kernel sources.
You could probably update your SuSE box with the 2.4.9-31 RPMs, but some
things may break, not sure. The kernels have different patches and probably
different configurations.
The userspace RPMs are a different story; the userspace RPMs from XFS 1.1 will
likely work just fine, as long as the SuSE kernel RPM has the new
EA interface (I'm 99.9% certain that it does) and a non-broken
BLKGETSIZE64 ioctl.
Of course Andi can probably chime in and let you know for sure.
