what kernel are you running? older 2.4 and 2.2 kernels will possibly
have problems with the IDE in the ibook2, also i have seen reports of
screwy behavior with the 2.4.19-pre-benh branch. 2.4.18 from
kernel.org should be fine.
also im sure your not, but if you were booting with BootX instead of
yaboot that would likly explain it, only yaboot can be used on
NewWorld PowerMacs.
