Ok after upgrading to the very latest CVS version of XFS it works:

checking whether to support ACLs... checking for acl_get_file in 
-lacl... yes
checking for ACL support... yes
Using posix ACLs
checking for acl_get_perm_np... no

I thought I was up to date with a 2 day old XFS version from CVS...;-)
