Hm, the 2.4.9-13 kernel had a fix in it for a previous bug in remount,
readonly that sometimes caused problems on shutdown, so I'm not sure
what happened the first time.

However, hitting reset is a very, very bad idea, especially right after
you install a bunch of system software...
