Hello,

I have I would like to ask those on the list for some set-up suggestions.

I am setting up 2 partitions on a hardware raid-5 (on a Mylex Extremeraid 2000)
under Debian Linux 2.2 on intel with a 2.4.18 kernel with the version: 1.0.2+
20020304-2 kernel patch.

The 2 virtual drives for XFS will be 120GB and 378GB each.

The files are varying between small .files and larger media files from faculty
and student works (Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Victoria, Canada).

Looking at the current files the Average File Size (1K blocks / # of files) is
1681.6K.

What suggestions are there for this setup:

1. best block size to use?
2. log file size config?
3. allocation groups?

BTW is the slow delete problem fixed in the 20020304 CVS code?

Dave,
