Hi guys:

I have some problems in one server, when I run mkfs (mkfs.xfs) I got an

No space left on device

HW: PE2450
MEM: 384 MB
OS: RH 7.1 updted
kernel: 2.4.9-31SGI_XFS_1.1
Command: #mkfs -t xfs  -f /dev/sdc1
xfsprogs version: xfsprogs-2.0.3-0

Standard output:

meta-data=/dev/sdc1              isize=256    agcount=6294979, agsize=1048576
data     =                       bsize=4096   blocks=6600763899904, imaxpct=25
         =                       sunit=0      swidth=0 blks, unwritten=0
naming   =version 2              bsize=4096
log      =internal log           bsize=4096   blocks=32768
realtime =none                   extsz=65536  blocks=0, rtextents=0
mkfs.xfs: write failed: No space left on device

Fdisk details

#fdisk -l /dev/sdc

Disk /dev/sdc: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 38694 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdc1             1     38694 310809523+  83  Linux

I had downgraded xfsprogs version (including devel version) to recreate
file system.

Command: mkfs -t xfs  -f /dev/sdc1
meta-data=/dev/sdc1              isize=256    agcount=75, agsize=1048576 blks
data     =                       bsize=4096   blocks=77702380, imaxpct=25
         =                       sunit=0      swidth=0 blks, unwritten=0
         =                       imaxbits=31
naming   =version 2              bsize=4096
log      =internal log           bsize=4096   blocks=9485
realtime =none                   extsz=65536  blocks=0, rtextents=0

when I did that I saw there is a oversize blocks (6600763899904 v/s
77702380 and some other variables are different between bot mkfs.xfs
version). I don't know why.

I saved a strace output for first command. I am not expert analyzing code, but I
will try to see what happened.

In the list, I found some guys having the same problem but I don't now if
it's fixed now in the current cvs tree.

Steve, Eric / Team you can tell me if you need and extended strace version
(-v) to see where is the problem.
