Well, the mkfs.xfs userspace application is in the xfsprogs rpm, not the
kernel rpm.

You haven't really explained what you're doing with the box, or how much
you have migrated to XFS.  Are all active filesystems now XFS?  Are they
on RAID?  What kind?

I wouldn't go for the patches, most of them are snapshots.  I would
suggest upgrading to the 1.1 RPMs recently released, though.

Without knowing the details of your drive setup, mounting with
"logbufs=8" may help.
