XFS filesystems created under Linux will be compatible with Irix, just not
always the other way around.  XFS for Linux supports a subset of the
features and formats of XFS on Irix.  Specifically, version 2
directories, unwritten extents, and filesystem block size come to mind.

(linux does not support unwritten extents, version 1 dirs, or fs block
size != page size)
