You can "patch" it yourself.

Remove the line with ".text.exit" from vmlinux.lds.
Unfortunately I am at work and can't check the exact path or
file name. But it's probably in arch/i386. 

I had the same problem so you can look up my mail about it.
It was about 2 weeks ago I think.
