Hi

There was a discussion on this list about a DAC960 crash happening in rare
ocasions with the following configuration: SMP, HIGHMEM, DAC960 and RH
kernels 2.4.9-13 (SGI_XFS_1.0.2 too). This has the bugid
http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=56603 .
Now redhat says the last errata kernel release 2.4.9-21 fixes this bug (at
least in their labs). Also they said that me using egcs 2.91.66 to compile
this kernels (yes I used the custom version) could run into more trouble
couse the recommended gcc version to compile 2.4.9-21 is 2.95.3 as per
Documentation/Changes. AFAIK SGI recommends egcs 2.91.66 to compile
Release 1.0.2. I want to try out 2.4.9-21 which I know they are
contributed but should be fine as long as they have the exactly same XFS
bits as 2.4.9-13 (whioch I consider it pretty stable). But I don't know
hich compiler version to use ?!

Thanks

PS: thanks for the hardware RAID5 tips :)
