Hello,

I am curious how up to date the 2.4 kernel is that can be checked out of
oss.sgi. Being there is no patch aginst 2.4.18-rc1 yet (and dare I not
ask for it), I need to know if it is remotely close to the or identical
to the 2.4.18-rc1 branch of the linux kernel.

TIA,

The CVS tree is still 2.4.17.

We will not make a 2.4.18 based kernel available until 2.4.18 actually comes
out. We do have 2.4.18-pre9 running here, but we are not making things public yet, the reason being that the extended attribute/acl kernel interface will be
changing in this version to use the new system calls. A new user space will
be required for this so we do not want to just put this out willy nilly.

Steve
