> Have you ever did some tune into RAID controllers like write or cache > policy to have a better performance using Journal FS?? (obvious, XFS ;) I've got some filesystems on software raid5 which is told to perform badly without an external log not being on soft raid5. I'll set up a raid1 volume and make another volume group of it to put all the log volumes into it. Some other boxes are running hardware raid (ICP Vortex oder Compaq SmartArray 5300). But I haven't done any tuning or measurements with them. |
