The "null" files issue is in the faq; you can search for these files
with the attached C program (someone posted it to the list quite a while
ago, read the source & use at your own risk).

The only files that should be affected are ones that were being written
at the time of the crash.

For the oops, running it through ksymoops, or sending a KDB backtrace
will be necessary to figure out what's going on.
