Maybe you remember that I experienced the same problem (system hang)
when running several cp processes simultaneously.
The difference was that I was able to hang the system with different
filesystems (even with good old ext2). I gave up on this but now I woke
up and will try again tonight. IIRC I was trying last with the 2.4.9-12
rpm of RH7.1-XFS and did not have this problem again.
