Try a kernel merge sometime and you will see why:

First setup three complete kernel trees:

        2.4.x-xxx with XFS
        2.4.x-xxx without XFS
        2.4.x-xxx+1 without XFS

In our case it makes it easier if you first put kdb into the trees as
well.

Go get the mergetrees command

Do a 3 way merge

Fix up any conflicts

Build the result, fix build errors, notice design changes in linux and
adjust xfs appropriately.

Then boot the kernel and test. debug any hangs or panics which show up.

Check the code into a tree.

Repeat until you are blue in the face!

Steve
