I was refering to that, just haven't been clear enough...
I had software that couldn't compile on gcc that comes with
rh7.1 ( that's default gcc, not updated ). I think one
of them was mplayer ( but not 100% sure ).

Now I use slackware 8 :)
just upgraded to 2.4.16 with xfs support and it works great...
