I use fully updated RHL7.1, and didn't have any problem with compiling
kernel-source w/ kernel-headers.
The only differences I found between your setup & mine are;
1. I did configure XFS DMAPI.
2. I've got the updated glibc from RedHat, which is 2.2.4.
I don't guarantee the success, but suggest you update your glibc-related
