there are XFS patches for grub available, they have not been merged
upstream, but debian has applied them in thier grub packages.  my
testing indicates that the patch works.  I also adapted the grub XFS
code to yaboot (a PowerPC bootloader akin to SILO) and have had good
success with it so far (on the powerpc arch of course).
