Hello!
First of all, thank you for the work you are doing on XFS for Linux.
I've been using it for some time now and I'm very happy with it, no
problems till the date.
Anyway, the problem. You know Linus and Alan's trees have diverged more
and more lately, and many people are prefering Alan's tree now because
of some decisions taken by Linus are a bit too much for a stable branch
(like the sudden change of VM core). Anyway, I'm one of them, but
currently I'm stuck with Linus because there's no patches for the -ac
kernels.
[SYSTEM] % find ./ -name "*.rej" WC
24
Ew, a bit too much.
I know this is mentioned in the faq and so on, but I guess you don't
need to do patch every -ac that gets released.
If you just did a few patches, say 1 every 1 or 2 weeks, and targetting
what Alan calls "safe" kernels (he mentions what should be ok and what
shouldn't in the changelogs), that would be more than enough for people
in my situation.
Thanks again for your great work,
Jordi
(speaking in behalf or a few more)
