How exactly did you install the system?
Mandrake has it's own kernel, it has nothing to do with the 1.0 or 1.01
version numbering scheme.
XFS 1.0.1 is the latest for RedHat based systems, your kernel in MDK 8.1 is
even newer than that. So in effect, if you're runnning MDK 8.1 you're
running a post-1.0.1 kernel. Except that it's not built by SGI.

Basically, if you're running MDK 8.1, you don't need to do much except
perhaps if you want to grab a newer one to squash a few bugs.
