I have know a number of VALinux guys who ran into the same issues as
I did time and time again, despite things being in Mandrake's bug
DB. After seeing the same issue release in and out (like SCSI
CD-ROM issues in the installer, broken components in the control
panel, etc...), I finally "gave up" after Mandrake 7.1.
It is obvious to me that Mandrake has three goals:
1. Always include latest packages
2. Test only on mainstream systems
3. Beat RedHat to market
Now I'm not saying that that is nessarily "bad." In fact, #1 and #2
are what people only care about. But they have been pretty
consistent at all three, and they all conflict with my needs for
Linux -- which is 24x7 operation, both server and desktop.

Well, I've been lobbying RedHat to "wake up and smell the reality."
As much as I like Ext3, there are definately some limitations in its
capabilities versus XFS. RedHat will, sooner or later, realize that
Ext3 is NOT going to address all their customers. Not even for
server installs.
