Jesse -Been running 8.1.6(120GB) and 8.1.7(35GB) on two different XFS 1.0 systems for a couple months now and have been pleased with performance so far.. You're going to have a couple 'issues' installing 8i on a 2.4 kernel, but thats got nothing to do with XFS and is spelled out pretty well on technet.oracle.com Shout offlist if you have an specific questions :) .djc.
