FWIW, I did a cvsup of my xfs kernel tree from ftp.thebarn.com this morning and then succesfully applied ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.4/patch-2.4.12.bz2 The only hunk which failed was the patch to the top level Makefile. I edited linux/Makefile: VERSION = 2 PATCHLEVEL = 4 SUBLEVEL = 12 EXTRAVERSION =-xfs and built a kernel with no problems. This is a debian system. There is a compilation bug in 2.4.12, which involves linux/drivers/parport/ieee1284_ops.c. If that file fails to compile then s/EEE1284_PH_DIR_UNKNOWN/IEEE1284_PH_ECP_DIR_UNKNOWN/ (2 places). -John -- HyperFeed Technologies Unix Development |
