You should focus less on performance, because there is a _lot_ of
overlap, and more on figuring out what you need.  E.g., ReiserFS is
fine and dandy for Windows servers, but you'll have problems with
non-Linux NFS clients.  XFS doesn't, and brings a lot of added
functionality to the Windows server arena at the same time.

Depends on the application benchmark!  ;-PPP

E.g., bonnie is typically used for NFS testing.  There are various
SMB benchmarks like Ziff-Davis' testing suite, etc...
