Hello,
First, thank you very much for providing the opensource community with the
XFS filesystem. I have been using it in a production environment for
some time now and I have had no problems at all, only increased
performance! :-)
As you may now RedHat has now released updated kernel rpm's for their
latest RedHat 7.1 Linux distribution. The updated Linux kernel is now
2.4.9-6 . Check for yourself:
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/updates/7.1/en/os/i386/
kernel-2.4.9-6.i386.rpm
kernel-BOOT-2.4.9-6.i386.rpm
kernel-doc-2.4.9-6.i386.rpm
kernel-headers-2.4.9-6.i386.rpm
kernel-source-2.4.9-6.i386.rpm
Could you please patch this one with XFS support and provide it at you
ftp-site like this (or something other appropriate):
ftp://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/download/Release-1.0.1/kernel_rpms/RHlinux-2.4.9/
Thanks in advance, it would be really nice if you did that quite soon
because there are some security flaws in the current 2.4.3-kernel.
Best regards,
Tomas Ericsson
